Victoria Bay, or Vic Bay for short, is a consistently good wave destination in South Africa that offers a surfable wave almost every day of the year. While it’s strictly for advanced surfers when the waves get big, the 1-4ft region of Vic Bay is an absolute joy for playful surfing.

Conveniently positioned near George, Vic Bay is a cosy spot that’s perfect for a “small” long weekend or for a quick dip on the way to Jeffreys Bay. This classic point break features both an inside and outside section, with the big boys taking off next to a protruding rock and dropping straight into a steep section that turns into a ripable wall. Meanwhile, smaller surfers can sit further in, take off on the wall, and catch leftovers. Regardless of your level, Vic Bay offers a long, fun wave that’s perfect for both long and shortboards.
